Subject: Lima-Cuzco airfares Posted on: Thu, 13 Apr 2006 17:59:35 +0000 (UTC)

I'm trying to make certain I understand airfares between Lima
(destination from US) and Cuzco. I've found two airlines with web
fares:

LAN Peru: $266 RT
TACA: $170 RT

Both have various taxes and "other charges." I'm a little surprised at
the difference in fares. But I'm also concerned with the following
statement on the TACA web site:

To ensure you obtain the ticket(s) at the quoted fare(s), they must be
purchased in the country of departure.

I would be making a purchase in the US for travel inside Peru. Do I
have to worry that TACA will hit me with other big "additional charges"
and/or not recognize my reservation once I get to Lima? I'm not sure
I'm getting a straight answer from TACA, and several whom I have called
admit that they don't know the answer.
