I mean flying there on a return multi month ticket, and buying food like
local people do. No marriage, no work, though it would be nice to have
at least dialup internet. I guess hi-speed internet might be a little
out of reach on a meager budget.

And do people ever take boats there? Any ferries from Key West or the
DR or the Yucatan?
