I travelled with friends to Santiago a month ago and I did not have to
pay the $100 because my passport was stamped showing I paid the fee on
a previous trip. My friend who had also traveled there previously had
to pay becasue he had a new passport and could not show he had paid the
fee previously. There was no fee when we left Chile. Airport taxes
were collected as part of the ticket fee. I don't recall what they
were, but were nothing like $100.
