Subject: Brit Air . No advance seat selection Posted on: 18 Oct 2006 13:53:34 GMT

Travellers beware

Brit. Airways will refuse to provide advance seat selection on
International flights [ e.g. Europe <> N America ].
IF the first 40% of the seats in the section you will occupy, has been
allocated by the time of your request.
THAT IS SIXTY PERCENT OF BA INTERNATIONAL TRAVELLERS WILL BE DENIED
ADVACNE SEAT SELECTION.

I purchased return tickets on Brit. Airways to Canada, eight weeks
before the flight date. I had the reasonable expectation that I would
be provided seat selection. But, on the day of purchase I requested
seat selection. It was denied. Thus my wife and I "may" end up in non
adjacent seats [ and maybe sandwiched in a middle seat ] for a
thirteen hour flight.

Lamely, the customer clerk said that selection could be made 'on line'
24 hours before departure. [ if I have a laptop, if I'm awake, if the
other 60% of passengers aren't vying to access the BA site, if…. ]

Next time I shan't fly the "Worlds Friendliest Airline
