Subject: Re: Any experience on tours from Cancun? Posted on: Wed, 18 Oct 2006 16:07:33 CDT

>> My wife and I plan to spend five nights at Cancun at end of this
November, and we would like to visit Chichen Itza, Tulum, Xel-Ha,
Xcaret. I googled the web and found quite a few tour packages available
over the web. Among them, www.cancun-discounts.com offers great
discounts.<<

I have never taken a tour, but have driven to Tulum several times from
Cancun and PDC. A few recommendations if you decide to drive.

1. After visiting the ruins at Tulum, drive a little further toward town
and take a left to go to the beach/resort area. Drive to Ana y Jose
and have drink on the patio.

2. If you're around Puerto Morelos around lunch or dinner and you like
Asian food, check out Hola Asia.

3. Stop in Puerto Aventuras and check out the swim with the dolphin
operation...it is impressive.

4. Pick up a copy of SAC-BE (it's free) and read what they have to say
about the other areas that are on the way to Tulum. I can't remember if
there was one in the car rental office, but it shouldn't be hard to find one.
Last time I was there I read their description of Akumal and just had to
go :)
