I have seen the coverage described in writing in the past, generally in
very small print, saying that the Amex rental car coverage is applicable
in most countries, and specifically listing Ireland and other countries
as exceptions. Similarly, when they routed me to the person on the
phone, she rattled off a list of countries where coverage did not apply.
Mexico was not on that list.
Not sure what you read. When I looked on the Amex website, it spoke in
pretty general terms, hence I ended up calling. Next time they send me
a booklet with small print I will try to keep it. ;-)
