You should be able to find some answers by doing a search using key words or
phrases such as "freighter travel" and "Brazil."

I don't think that you will necessarily save any money traveling by this
means. I did such a search recently and found a trip between the United
States and South America by freighter, but the cost was $3400. Half that
amount, for a one-way trip, would still be $1700, so it would not be a cheap
trip.
