Hi, Dave. I am a friendly girl from Milwaukee and travel to Peru every
other season, plus I visit the border countries, looking for materials
for my art projects. Recently, I am finishing a book (five years in the
making) and translating it, too. So many tasks; I have designed and
fabricated clothes, using raw materials. So, your question about wool
isn't odd for me. However, you would probably find more alpaca (llama
wool) and this shouldn't be hard. I am teaching literacy to rural
people I meet on on the outstretches of the careterra; I have always
found a hostal or municipal albergue to stay; or in some instances,
because I have ventured so far away from materialism o modernism, I
have been doing some mountaineering and camping with indigenous and
artisans-inspiration for my book. We exchange services; I teach thier
children the alfabet then they cook for me. There is plenty of
artisania everywhere you turn in the Andinian regions. In Lima you can
get raw materials and make them yourself or buy them already made in
bulk. You can even work with enthomologists in the jungle regions where
they have a different style of artisan products. I have great ideas for
travel buddies, too. I connect with people from Asia and or Africa to
Lima and all the way to Santa Cruz anyday and now we are quite a group
of globe travellers. When are you planning this venture? For how long?
By the way the land trip to La Paz, did it; but I tell you, it is long
and rough; maybe that's why I am seasoned, haha. Did you see the
posting about the most dangerous road in the world?
