Telefreriquo is still fairly new-- and has not been listed in many of
the travel books including mine "Culture Shock! Ecuador" 2006 still
waiting to be shipped.
It is a wonderful excursion and quite popular with both Ecuadorians and
visitors. Please send me your list for Ecuador or any other location.
However, some items while the most popular may not make the list. For
example, I am looking for places that may not be known to the
mainstream- ie Galapagos and M.P. in Peru. I am hoping to provide
numerous lists for readers to expand their horizons.
Thanks for the comments.
As to the reader who mentioned the crime in Quito. It has increased and
gringolandia has really gone down hill in terms of trash and the
criminal element.

P.S. Many people still leave Guayaquil out of their plans. It shouldn't
be missed especially if you have a desire to see the differences in
culture in Ecuador from one geographic area to the next. It has greatly
improved with the Malecon project. In fact some of the fascinating
things I found previously in Guayaquil (like the smell of insecticide
in the former airport or the street merchants on 9 de Octubre) have all
but vanished. I can remember a time on 9 de Octubre you could literally
purchase almost anything including monkeys and parrots. Anyone who
could have left Ecuador except those with vast amounts of money have
exited to Europe to live and work.
