this is off-topic for this group, i think, but so much help is so
freely given here, that i thought i would post, as i am in need of
assistance. if this is too far out of line, please ignore me and i
will quietly fade away...
i have been listening to a cd i bought the other day called "tonos y
tonadas"...argentine music from 1700 or so. one of the songs, sung by
the marvelous soprano, barbara kusa, is called, "pampa de los
guanacos." what's it about? does anybody know? i just love the
melody and so i'm on a quest to figure it out...
okay. i know what a pampa is and i know what a guanaco is. and from
what i can gather from looking at maps, pampa de los guanacos is a
place in northeastern argentina, in a national park, right?
can anyone sort me out? has anyone else ever heard the song? it's by
cristóforo juárez and agustín carabajal...
is it a milonga?
i found (what would appear to be) the lyrics, via google. what did i
ever do without the internet? it seems to be some kind of heavy-duty,
poetic love song.
any help would be appreciated.
