from my diary

Chichen itza -> Merida - 2 hours (110km)
see Merida (traditional dancing on Sunday nights in the street)
next day 'Puuc Tours' to see Labna, Xlapak, Sayil, Kabah, Uxmal
((ooshmal) was the best of the bunch)
entrance was free on Sundays, but it was hot and humid

Merida -> Campeche - 150km, relaxing town on the coast, see Fort

Campeche -> Palenque - a/c video bus showing 'Yahoo Serious' - 5
hours perhaps
see ruins, impressive setting

Palenque -> San Cristobal de las Casas - 4 hours
colourful indian town

San Cristobal de las Casas -> Tehuantepec - 8 hours
nothing to see here, meet an Aussie with a motorbike, says he going
to Argentina from L.A ! and then to South Africa !!

Tehuantepec - Oaxaca - 5 hours - pleasant town
visit Monte Alban

Oaxaca -> Mexico City - 15 hours overnight
