Amman is a serendipitous stop as a result of my planned
routing from Delhi to Cairo; I'm taking the opportunity for
a quick side-trip to Petra. I only have a couple of days so
it is likely to need to be pre-booked - down to Petra, stay
the night, then back to Amman and out to Cairo. So, probably
a package for that one.
In Egypt, after a few days in Cairo I intend taking the
train to Aswan and one of the cruises for four or five
nights down the Nile, then fly back to Cairo to depart for
Mexico, via a few days each in London and NYC/DC.
Prior to that I'll be spending about a week each in
Bankok/Siem Reap(Angkor Wat) and the Golden Triangle of
Delhi/Agra/Jaipur via Hong Kong. For Siem Reap I'll fly in
and out, for Agra/Jaipur I'll probably use trains.
As a 60yo I'm not as fit as I was in my '30s and I'll be
travelling alone so I need to be a little cautious of
security and over-estimating my endurance. And the only
language I speak and read is English (Oz version:-);
although I do attempt to learn the basics for each country I
visit - hello, thank you, where is the toilet etc.
It sounds like you've been to many of the places I intend
visiting - or have visited. Do you have a site or blog with
your experiences on it? Excuse me if I should have known
already. Mine is in the sig of course.
Cheers, Alan, Australia
