I have been to only one of these cities, Guadalajara. I think that it is
the only one of your list that is "real" Mexico, as opposed to "tourist'
Mexico. The others are coastal and resort like.
I have to day that it has been a number of years since I have been there,
but I suspect that certain good things have not changed very much.
Guadalajara is a fine colonial city, with a wonderful cathedral. There
is a long pedestrian street in the center which is perfect for walking.
The Libertad market is reported to be the largest in Mexico. The murals
by Orozco are worth a trip all by them selves.
There are inexpensive hotels and great eating. There is the nearby town
of Tlaquepaque, which is a center of great crafts.
All in all, except if you are looking for the usual tourist things, you
can't go wrong with Guadalajara!
