I traveled there recently and I'll never go back. Me and my girlfriend
traveled to Arequipa in the the Arequipa Region. We decided on this
quaint looking restaurant. That was our first mistake.
The man cooking had yellowish green teeth and the thing that happened
next absolutely floored me! I could see him cooking and all of a
sudden he stuck his hand down the back of his pants and scratched his
backside. When he finally removed it he stuck it up to his nose and
smelled his fingers. Then to my total amazement he wiped his hand on a
kitchen towel he had recently used to wipe off a kitchen spoon. I was
outraged but when I protested the entire staff became indignant and
threatened to call the Polic=EDa. Knowing how justice is sometimes meted
out in these quasi third world countries we decided to leave quietly
and rather quickly.
