Use this "cabaņa" as a keyword along with Punta Bete, Akumal, and
Tulum. There are also some small boutique hotels (no taller than 3
floors, no more than 33 rooms) that can be found in Playa del Carmen and
some of the other locations I mentioned.

If you're looking for All Inclusive resorts, check out Playacar (south
of Cancun). Most of these resorts are not high rise but smaller scale,
kind of like a Polyneasian village.

There are also some nice places to be found north of Cancun at Isla
Mujeres.
