Well *sigh* it's a long time until I retire and I was being flippant in
my reply, so I haven't made any plans, no.
But I've been in Bahia twice, as I have friends in Salvador, and I noted
the cost of a decent unfurnished flat by the sea and the minimal cost of
food and transport etc etc and I thought I could certainly live there.
Local cost is very cheap, but flights would cost rather more. I was also
thinking this in Fortaleza: I could live there for years just by renting
my flat in London. That would go for about $2000/month, so I would also
be able to save :-)
For wintering only, surely Mexico is the better option if you live in
the US.
