Do go to the hot springs there at Tabacon though. IMO, the swim-up bar is worth
the extra ten bucks entry fee over the smaller municipal version across the
road. The perfect time to go is about 3pm, that way you see it in daytime and
at night. I had a great time there. Take your credit card with you and leave
it at the bar at the bottom pool and you can just run a tab.

Anyone know if Tabacon was affected by the recent Arenal eruption? I sure hope
not.

In general, I had pretty good luck getting the 'casado' at local eateries for
everyday meals all over the country. It's like a combo plate with meat, fish,
or chicken, beans, rice, a tiny salad and usually fried plantains. $2-5
depending on where you go and quite filling for me.

I didn't eat out much for 'big dinners' in La Fortuna though, since Montana de
Fuego has a pretty decent restaurant, if a tad pricey. Though with cab fare to
town it probably evens out.

For a good lunch, try the hamburger place across from the SkyTrek office in La
Fortuna. I can't remember the name but it had a big "Hamburguesa" sign in the
window.

Where else are you going? God, I want to go back so bad.
