I'd heard other folks say they want to discover it all by themselves,
however...
Marco Polo, Daniel Boone, Lewis & Clark, Kit Carson, Dr.
Livingston, Richard Burton, etc., all had scouts themselves... They
wanted all the info they could get beforehand, but not you?
You don't have to eat in the restaurants, or stay in the hotels in
guidebooks. It's up to you. But, if you're trying to make a case for
willful ignorance, please continue, so far you're only sounding like a
snob.
