well
prices differ in lima depending on the position of the hotels
in the centre. hotels will be cheaper as there is a lot fo criminality in
the night.
( also during the day.. but there is more police around)
other parts of the towns are better and more expensive.
I lived in a hotel just opposite Los delphines
los delphines is a superb and expensive hotel
i guess that on the web you will find a lot of offers.
Lima is not a touristic place.
I guess I paid about 70 dollars when I was there.
a 4 stars hotel
you should also take in consideration the costs
of taxis ( again you will have to bargain yr life all day )
from the airport.. taxis will be more expensive if you take one from
international arrivals.
walk a few metres. take one from domestic arrivals
and it will cost you three times less !!!
Lima is divided into zones.. so taxis cost more if you go from one zone to
another.
do not hesitate to bargain when you ask the price
of the hotel.
I did that and got a rebate.
then I bribed the receptionist, and he called all the other hotels and gor
for me very cheap prices.
( i used the chain Posada del Inca)
it cost me 5 dollars.. but it was worth it.
the only place where prices are more expensive is Cuzco..
but as most tourists are travelling on abudget
the best hotels will also cost a reasonable price.
I also took a taxi to Nazca..
I paid 120 dollars.. and it is about 400 kms..
so.. 120 dollars for more than 800 kms
a full day drive..
for the best prices
pls try
www.utell.com
www.hotels.com
you will see..
