cost of a one-way flight was about $100. Because distances in Argentina are
very great, that is a reasonable price by North American standards.
If you will be in the country for only a short time, I would suggest that
you visit Buenos Aires, a cosmopolitan and sophisticated city with opera,
music, and art, as well as many cafes and restaurants -- a pleasant city for
walking around -- and also places that are distinctly different from Buenos
Aires. Bariloche (San Carlos de Bariloche) is in the Andes, and situated
among mountain lakes and forests, and Iguazú, on the border with Brazil, has
its spectacular waterfalls and the jungle.
