Did you actually try to use your ATM card in San Pedro? As far as I know,
ATM's are still not accepted there. Also, when we were last in Belize City,
the interac was down at all the banks. Therefore, relying on being able to
use your ATM is not that wise. You'd hate to find that you'd planned to use
it your one day in Belize City, only to find that connections are down that
day.

It is best to have some cash with you, and carry travellers cheques in a few
different denominations. There are some places that cannot/will not cash
large cheques. If you are in San Pedro, it is very easy to cash $100
travellers cheques. Carry your credit card (VISA) for major purchases like
accommodations or tours. Many restaurants, etc. will charge a service fee
for taking your credit card. I rarely use mine.

The weather this time of year is quite unpredictable due to the northers
that can come rushing down and really cool things off, especially on the
islands.

Don't worry, you'll love it.
