Yes, we took a private taxi a couple of times. Once was from Fortuna out to
Guanacaste. Just negotiate your price and they'll stop wherever you want to
stop. I think we negotiated to use him for the day. I don't recall what we
paid at the time, but it seemed extremely reasonable. We bought him lunch
and some juice, too (he didn't want any soft drinks!). Jane
