We seem to be headed in that direction.

The only reason for Acapulco is that it is the closest beach
destination to DF... If we could make it to PE, Acapulco could be
scratched in an instant. However, I still seem to be enchanted by
Taxco and it's narrow, cobble-stone streets and 'back in time' feel,
according to travel guides; but Taxco is only a 2 hour bus from DF, I
do believe, which could be a day trip or overnight... with a little
more time.

Thanks all the same! This is all helpful as we are at the mercy of
travel guides and photographs...

So I hear the road to Oaxaca from DF is quite lovely? Much more so
than the road to Taxco or Acapulco I wonder?
