Hi group,

I will be in the southern Yucatan (Palenque) on part of my holiday and
would really like to get over to Tikal (Guatemala). I will be driving
around the yucatan and wondered what the trip may be like driving over
to Tikal?

It doesn't look more than 150-200 miles so could probably be done in a
day even with bad roads but I have heard stories of robbery,
car-jacking etc...

I am an adventurer and don't really like guided tours and the like.

Any ideas, suggestions, or warnings?
