I just read in the Tico Times that the Big Bazaar bar closed. Pity. Hope none
of the other fun places I remember have gone. If it is still like it was last
year, Mambo Bar on the circle is the place to go early.
If you go, stop by the ... chamber of commerce for lack of a better word. Not
sure what the sign says, but it is a storefront downtown near the internet cafe.
It's run by an expat gringo and said something like "Tamarindo Info" in the
window. Nice guy, and they had *really* handy little hand-drawn maps of the
town with businesses labeled. I found a couple of good restaurants that were
off the main street I never would have known about.
