Patzcuaro is an easy 30-40 minute ride on a mostly divided highway from=20
Morelia's new bus station. Buses, either 1st class or 2nd class leave=20
several times an hour at both ends. Great crafts, beautiful walking=20
streets, etc. Each of the villages around the lake has a different=20
craft and many have displays in the Once Patios courtyard. A large=20
selection of Mexican style table cloths and napkins sold on the square.
We make the day trip several times during each visit to Morelia. The=20
only place in Mexico I ever saw a pickup truck with a bed full of just=20
picked cilantro. Great Indian market every day.
In my opinion, Morelia has the best cuisine in Mexico. Many restaurants =
in all price ranges. The state museum of arts and crafts at the=20
ex-Convento San Francisco has some of the state's best artisan works
on display and for sale at reasonable prices.
