I'll be in Chile from the end of Dec. until 14th Jan. My plan is to start in
Santiago and head south through the Lake District and on to Chiloe. Then
backtrack to Puerto Montt and take a flight to Puntas Arenas where I'll
catch a flight back to Santiago. The thing I'm not too sure about is getting
from Santiago to, say, Temuco. Are buses or train services reasonably
reliable and quick to Temuco from Santiago? How good and frequent is the
surface transportation between Temuco and Puerto Montt? How about between
Puerto Montt and Chiloe? Any pointers or suggestions in terms of places to
visit in Chiloe?
Any words of wisdom, advice, etc., would be greatly appreciated.
