Hi,
I'll be flying into San José around the end of January, and I'm looking
for one or two good beaches to spend a couple of days at before a
planned visit to Jacó. Preferably they would be within striking distance
(say 4-5 hours by bus) of Jacó and/or San José.
I'm not looking for anything posh (no big hotels) and would like to stay
at a place of limited expense. Decent nightlife (Costa Ricans, or at
least not drunken American college students) would be good, but not
required.
Also, is there anything worthwhile in or near San José besides the
volcano? I was there for a day about two years ago and despite walking
around downtown for about four hours, I didn't see anything particularly
interesting.
I greatly appreciate any suggestions.
