My fiancee and I will be travelling to Costa Rica for two weeks in
mid-may for our honeymoon. We're flying into San Jose but haven't
decided where to go from there. We did decide to end our stay at
Tabacon but that's about it. After reading the Lonely Planet and the
Let's Go guidebooks, I feel overloaded with too much info, so I'm
hoping someone can give me some direction.
We want to hike and swim in rivers and pools along the trails; we want
to relax on the beach and take some surfing lessons; we want to do a
good canopy tour and we want to see lots and lots of wildlife.
We'll be taking adavantage of the public bus system so we don't want to
have to spend a whole lot of time on buses, but we do want to get as big
a taste of the varied landscape as possible.
If anyone on this list has travelled extensively in Costa Rica, please
pass along your favorite areas that are do-able within a two week trip.
We've heard a lot of good things about Monteverde and Tortugero but
unless those really are the BEST places to go for what we want, please
offer other suggestions.
