Re: Guatemala City / Flores / Belize - Questions.... Posted on: Thu, 22 Sep 2005 10:59:21 +0000 (UTC)

Geoff,

Here is a link on air and bus between Flores and Belize.

http://www.frommers.com/destinations/tikal/3559020009.html

While I have been to Guat twice, I haven't made the trip from Flores to
Belize. Even as a veteran chicken-bus rider, there is no way I would
make that particular trip on a bus. That is an airflight, for sure.
If you are that time pressed, that bus is not your "ticket."

RE: The remainder of the itinerary -- you asked for comments. Our
styles of visiting are different ... I couldn't enjoy the rushed nature
of what you describe. I understand we are all different, but you are
suggesting spending less that 10 hours actually seeing the country.

I spent nearly three weeks on one trip and four weeks on another and I
haven't scratched the surface of Guatemala. My suggestion would be to
slow down but you mention time constraints. Then I would visit Belize
or Tikal, not both...just an opinion, your mileage may vary.
