And, as you noticed, the prices are quite steep...

November is end of spring, and we went twice to the Fitz Roy area at that
time of the year (that's very close). The temperature is usually mild (even
warm) in the valleys, but it gets very cold very rapidly as you climb, and
we have had snow in the campgrounds. We were in the Torres area in January,
and we had warm weather as well as very cold days - and don't forget it's
windy, very, very, windy.

It is only by camping at the foot of the Torres lookout that we could be in
the right place at sunrise... I remember meeting grumbling tourists, who had
climbed from the Hosteria, and of course they saw nothing, they were wet -
and tired... But you need an excellent tent, resistant to the wind (even if
the campgrounds are located in relatively sheltered areas). And you need
good sleeping bags, and you have to carry your food... All this end up in
very heavy backpacks...
We used the public busses, very convenient. The Hosteria's private mini-bus
will take you from the public bus stop to the camping ground at the
Hosteria - if you camp there. Absolutely no need to hire your own car.
