I've "sailed through" the process at Miami twice, both times on flights from
Argentina that had connecting flights in Miami two hours later, but I don't
think I would want to risk missing a flight by cutting things any closer.
On another flight that was delayed because of weather, the American Airlines
personnel made sure that all of us who were connecting to other flights got
through customs first, then they took our bags to the connecting flight; all
we had to do was run!
