I agree. Some friends or relatives might not be able to attend or
afford the stay unless the Bride's or Groom's family is footing the
bill. On the other hand if a small wedding is planned and all parties
are in favor - then why not. One additional thing. If the OP wants to
do a church wedding, the church in San Miguel, Cozumel is more favorable
to the one in Playa del Carmen which is a former warehouse building.
