Yet every time I have tangled with you, or more like every time you
get a chance, you have started an anti NYC thread or turned an
existing thread in that direction. What is your problem? I can see
an occasional thump on the head for NYC but what is it that makes you
so singleminded in your anti NYC pursuit? I would really like to know
because I have worked with people like you who earned their living in
NYC but never let a moment go by where they could talk of how they
hated this place. Most of them formed their opinions in the 1960s
thru the 1980s and now refuse to change. I agree that during that
time this was not a likeable place and it was obvious to any tourists
too.
As for bringing in Newark, NJ - what does that have to do with the
price of tomatoes? Were those 32 murders all random street shootings?
How many were domestic disputes (the NASCAR of the urban poor)? How
many of those were shot with their own gun? How many of those guns
were obtained in a jurisdiction that allows easy over-the-counter
sales? Was gang warfare or drugs involved? In a city that has been
all but abandoned by it's own government is there any wonder that
lawlessness reigns?
If we are going to start comparing your community with NYC then I
suppose I can state why I wouldn't want to live out in NJ. Why would
I want to live in the cancer belt? And then spend half my life
commuting back to NY.
Whatever your answer is I don't plan on responding after this. |
