If you're really worried about getting a spot at Alewife, why not take
Commuter Rail in from Winchester Center or West Medford? There's a
commuter rail map and schedule at www.mbta.com. You'll be about a
3-mile drive from a rail station. You have to pay $2 to park in the
rail station lots, but it's a bah-gain compared to in-town parking and
you don't need to fuss with traffic on 93 during peak times. (I take
commuter rail in myself from the south shore!)

Of course, the trade-off is that you're dependent on the rail schedule
for getting to and from the hotel...the last train on the Lowell line
leaves North Station @ 11:59 pm. If you're night owls, that could be a
problem.
