Nice route. Other altenates would be to take the new ferry from
Toronto to Rochester and catch I-380 there, or to take 401 to the 1000
Islands Bridge and catch I-81 there.

BTW, I hope the original poster is aware that Washington has three
airports which are far apart. IAD-Dulles, which is located FAR in the
suburbs to the NW of town, DCA-Reagan National, which is located on a
manmade island in the Potomac river just yards from all of the
government buildings and Arlington Cemetary, and
BWI-Baltimore-Washington, which is in the Baltimore suburbs.
