Subject: Re: heated pools stone cold Posted on: Sun, 5 Dec 2004 07:58:23 -0800

..If it's an outdoor pool, the temp. is psychologically dependent on
whether or not the sun is shining. Notice how people never complain
about swimming in the cold rivers or lakes? ...That's because, they wait
until it's a nice sunny day before they don their trunks and head down
to the beach.
I'm from British Columbia... The recommended temp. put out by the
health dept. for an outdoor pool is 75=B0 to 80=B0 (slightly higher for
an indoor pool.). ...In my "commercial" outdoor pool. I never let the
temp. get above 80=B0. Why?... A higher temp. may feel nice to get into,
but after you're in for a few minutes, it's like you're in a lukewarm
tub...Yuk. ..Jon
