All depends on where you are...we don't have the most cloud free days
though. Interestingly enough, there is an observatory atop a residence
building at St. Mary's University in Halifax. Problem is, it is in the
middle of probably the highest amount of light pollution in the city !!
There is a sports field 10 feet away with night lighting and a container
pier close by with very stron lighting !!

Just like anywhere else, the farther away from the city the better.
