Can anyone recommend good value car hire companies in the US. We need to
rent a car for 1 week to travel from Phoenix to Las Vegas and then for
another 1 week for a trip from San Jose to San Francisco.

Also - anyone been to San Jose and recommend what it is like / what there is
to do? We messed up our vacation plans slightly - thinking we could drive
from Las Vegas to Monterey in one day. Forgot about the mountains in the
way! Now having to fly.
