They have a similar thing here in NJ. There are NJ DOT trucks that patrol
some of the highways (I've seen them on I295, Rt. 42 and the AC Expressway).
Police never stop to help or ask if you are in need of assistance. I've had
tens of cops drive by me in the freezing cold rain/sleet while I've been on
the side of the road with my hood and trunk up working on the car. Cops (in
NJ) are disgusting corrupt pigs with no respect for anyone or anything, not
even the law. They threaten and manipulate you until you are broken down
then tell you to lie under oath or else. From what I've heard and
experienced NJ is one of the worst states in the country as far as police
and the judicial system go.
Anyhow, the police don't give a damn about anyone stranded on the side of
the road. They just go on crusades for DUI people and after harassing
innocent people for hours on end they will hand out tickets for the most
ludicrous things, or just make up reasons to hand out tickets, and then our
lovely judicial way of guilty until proven innocent (virtually impossible to
prove innocence, a cops word is worth more than the truth from yourself,
witnesses, and even real life and photographic evidence). Hell, even if the
cop doesn't know crap about cars I still sure as heck woulda lvoed to sit in
the cops car for a few minutes to warm up that time I was soaking wet out in
the freezing cold fixing the car on the side of the road. No cops stopped.
No people stopped. Not even people coming out of the parking lot that drove
right next to me at a few MPH so much as asked if I was alright or needed
help. That's NJ for ya though. Whenever I see people in need I offer help. I
suppose that's not a common thing anymore though.
