Believe it or not, some Americans' only international experience *is*
Canada. Since passports are not required to cross the U.S./Canadian
border and since you already need to have a state driver's licence/
ID card and your existing birth certificate is free, why spend $65
to replicate something you not only have, but for most border-crossers,
you almost never need to produce?

I don't (yet) have a passport -- TheWife(tm) is pestering me to take
her to Italy (but why? There's both an Olive Garden and a Carabba's
down the road and I took her to East Side Mario's in Toronto last
weekend -- where's the need? j/k), so I presume I'll get one sometime
soon. But, I already have the materials I need to get me into and out
of Canada. Why drop 65 bucks for something I don't need?

Later,
Chris
