The "Cat is no more expensive than any of the Ferry services and is
quite predictable. Just like any other transportation company they
might have to cancel a run due to weather or a mechanical problem. I
would rather be on land in a storm than out in the Bay. Airlines don't
compensate due to weather. Why should the ferry company?

Same company operates the "Cat" and the Saint John-Digby Ferry.

Or you can just just drive to Nova Scotia through New Brunswick. If
your destination is Halifax and north, it's just as fast to drive
anyway.
