California equivalent of the Highway Code.
But, as others have said, don't sweat. Take it easy the first few days,
don't try and drive too far or too late in the day when you'll be tired.
It may be sensible to pick the car up the day after you arrive. Book an
hotel near the airport and they'll come and collect you in a "courtesy bus".
Next morning, the same bus will take you back to the airport and then you
can pick up the car refreshed and ready to go.
