You don't need the Parkway to go to the Tappen Zee. Interstate 287 is a
wide loop around NYC...intersecting the NJ Turnpike and taking you right up
into NY State about 10 miles west of the Tappen Zee. From there you can
either go east to the Tappen Zee or north up 87 (NYS Thruway) to 84 East.
My guess is that 84 east to Hartford would be much quicker than going all
the way to Albany.
