A very nice place to stay is the Banff Centre (the
art/conference/outdoor center looking down over the town). I was there
with a group, but the manager said that they rent to individuals when
space is available. I don't think they advertise since they are not a
commercial hotel, but the location is quiet and peaceful; and the
Centre is very nice (though not elegant). There are often very good
events at the Centre available to the public for a minimal price, and
the cafeteria has very good food.
