I'm not from Boston, but have been there a few times. I am, in fact, going next
weekend. Just a few thoughts:
1. My wife and I stay at the Westin Copley which is somewhat in the heart of
downtown. It's not the cheapest, but we get a discount as AAA/CAA members. We
like it because it is interconnected with the Copley Center and Prudential
Center shopping malls.
2. Have not indulged in too many museums, except to know that there are several
good ones in Boston. Maybe someone else can contribute.
3. I really like the Boston subway system and I think you should be able to get
anywhere you need to via the subway. In those rare cases, you can also cab it
fairly easily.
4. I still like Legals, but I know its more of a tourist things. You can find
several locations throughout the city. I also like Atlantic Fish Co. which is
at 761 Boylston St, downtown (they have a web site
http://www.bbrginc.com/afco/1.html). If you want to try something VERY
expensive, go to the top of the Prudential Center (Top of the Hub restaurant)
which has an excellent view of the city. There is also a Skywalk if you want to
just take in the view (http://www.prudentialcenter.com/play/skywalk.html). When
I go, my wife and I like to go to the Cheesecake factory, which is also downtown
in the Prudential Center mall. No matter where you go, always try a cup of chowder.
I'm sure others can offer more input. Have a great time. |
