To see the falls up close in their grandeur, you must sidle up to the
tourists. However, once you have viewed them (the precipice, on the Canadian
side is my favourite spot) and done the caves or the maid of the Mist, get
the hell out of both Niagara Falls schlock towns and get yourself to Niagara
on the Lake, Ontario, only a few miles away. It is the Canadian equivalent
of a quaint New England town.
