Yes, we went to Middleton Plantation. I have to say that Charleston is a
very pretty town. I like the homogeneity of house design in the old parts.
And it's on a point between two rivers, nice siting.

But Vancouver is between two larger bodies of water and has snow-capped
mountains in the background. Maybe I should add the Fraser River too.
Seattle also sits between 2 large bodies of water, in addition to assorted
lakes within the city, and with snow-capped mountains to the east and west.

More analytically, some cities are pretty because of their setting. Some
cities/towns are nicely laid out and have interesting architecture. A few
places combine both, San Francisco for one, Boston for another.

Personally, I really like watery cities. Venice is my favorite (urban) spot
in the world.
