The problem is, that stuff can live on as urban legend. Two weeks ago,
the NYT (which should know better) repeated the Canada entry by
9/11 hijackers story. Bill O'Reilly still blurts it out, once in a while.
Bruce Dumont of "Beyond the Beltway" still repeats it despite the
corrections by his guests both Dem and GOP.
Meanwhile, Zarqawi's top aide is found to be a US citizen, the
recruiter of Jose Padilla is found out to be a Washington, DC
public school superintendant, and members of the US military
like Ryan Anderson of the WA National Guard are caught
in the act of trying to help Al Qaeda. And those stories fade
real quick ...
