Even worse, when I bought one, you had to get a new phone number and
pay a new setup fee if your credit went to zero. Since incoming calls
are charged, you would have to keep your phone switched off when the
credit is getting low to prevent this from happening. An incoming call
from my husband in Italy wiped out my credit the only time I bought a
T-Mobile SIM. Since then, I roam with my Italian SIM when I'm in the
US.
